ATM - Not a bad attempt

jus back after seeing ATM -Its a vijay movie with lots of comedy + dance + wonderful songs. editing was crisp and movie moved quite fast in the first half. second vijay was not bad with the voice modulation and style etc. one more worthy mention is the fight sequence b/w both vijay’s. the songs choreography was very good for kelamal and ponmagal.

the intro fight plus the fight with bamboo during a chase etc was uncalled for. also the technical dept somehow seems to have messed up the scenes involving two vijay’s with each looking in some direction. Was expecting a lot of stuff for Valayapatti and ended up thinking why on earth ARR gave this song to this director. The supercool Marlyn Monroe also gone for a toss with the Mini elephant dance for that song

first half with comedy sequences and ESP etc set the pace for second half. second half with the villain vijay sequences laced in with comedy was too good. intro song dance + choreo was top class - too good, but somehow felt that the song and dance do not gel together. i personally liked the graphics usage (though amateurish) especially for the scene of ants carrying food. climax was on expected lines with not even 0% chance of vijay dying in the movie. that is the main drawback of the movie too with an abrupt ending and the villain deciding to be good and blah blah blah

Rahul Dravid has resigned as India captain with immediate effect. In a letter written to the Indian board, he has asked to be relieved of the captaincy before Australia's forthcoming tour of India, beginning later this month.

A statement from Niranjan Shah, secretary of the Indian board, said Dravid met Sharad Pawar, the board president, in New Delhi yesterday. He "expressed his desire to step down as captain of the Indian team and requested that he should not be considered for the job from the ensuing Australia series."

The statement said Dravid wanted to concentrate on his game.

Atlast, he decided to step down - if only he had done this some years back, it would have been highly beneficial for Indian Cricket. Let's see what BCCI does now - hopefully they dont bring back Sachin as the captain - that would again take back Indian team to rock bottom if they aren't already there. We gotto see this twenty-twenty tournament and take some lessons out of it and then get Yuvraj or Dhoni to captain the Indian team. Get young blood as much as possible. Improve the fielding. Saurav/Sachin/Dravid are not going to be in the team till next world cup for sure. So please dont again give back the captaincy to them. This is not a bad time to experiment. Kreedom - Imitation Crown

Ajith’s next movie after the tragic aalwar and before his almost HIT movie Billa (courtesy Vishnuvardhan), is Kreedom.

The movie narrates the story of a honest cop rajkiran who yearns to make his son, Ajith, a police officer and dreams to salute his son one day. Because of one incident which involves both him and his son and because of his son’s own love for him Ajith gets into huge trouble with the biggest local henchman, after which life is not the same for him. The father sees his own son’s would-be police career and personal life going down right in front of him and it comes to a real shattering climax.

Remade from a mega hit classic from Malayalam with the same name, the director has tried his level best to stick to the original as much as possible unlike his FALSE claims of just inspiration. It is to be noted that the Malayalam film’s hero Mohanlal got a special National Award for this movie. So Ajith has(had) that much of scope in the script of this movie.

The first song is the stale one “velayadu” — perhaps a song for audience to take some rest and be prepared for the tight storyline following. Comedy scenes of Thrisha (has done it to good effect with Santhanam) are all newly done for the tamil remake, while the role of Vivek as the bad brother-in-law is a take from the original. He is no way near his best. The villian of the movie is the main drawback. Varadarajan doesn’t give you that irritation or scare whenever he comes on screen (just shouting Aee in high pitch is not a great villain), whereas the original villain was menacing as Keerikaadan Jose.

The main trouble with the movie is that it is a remake from the 80’s and there have been many stories inspired from the same mould, of the hero being unnecessarily pulled onto a bad situation and then his life becoming miserable afterwards. It is the main storyline in most of Dharani’s movies like Dhill, Dhool and even Ghilli to some extent. Infact Dhill also speaks of a hero who wants to become a police and his fatal clash with the villain at the prime time becoming his main trouble.

Rajkiran has excelled in his role as a father. G. V. Prakash has done a commanding performance in the BGM though the songs are a rehash of many recent tamil songs, it works. Ajith’s performance in the climax is to be surely appreciated. He is miles above his normal acting in the climax. He is one actor who would perform even well with an great director in his side which is why Billa is sure to be a hit. Perhaps Vijay, an assistant of Priyadarshan could have made some more changes to the script which IMO looks more like Dhill because the movie is changed to suit the tamil audience with more masala which is perhaps what Dharani did long back.

All in all, the movie should be a good one for Ajith’s fans who would get to see him without all his normal punch dialogues and flying in the air kinda stuff which IMO was his downfall. But how far it would pull in family audiences is to be seen, with the movie becoming a regular routine except for the climax. Some movies just ought not to be remade, unless you have the best director or the best actor in the lineup.
Kreedom would have done wonders with Ajith alongside a more talented director or with Kamal acting in it with any director.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - A Fairy tale ending?

3 more days to go and the whole world is wanting to know what the 7th book is going to unravel. Petitions flying on broomsticks to Rowling to not kill Harry and a million fans breaking their head on what is R.A.B and 10 million pounds on the security on the book -- Its Potter time again.

With the arrival of the next blockbuster of the movie series, it has started off an euphoria of sorts and the HP fever. IMO, neither Harry nor Ron nor Hermoine are going to be killed in the 7th book. Its going to be end of fairy tale series where everyone happily lived ever after and from what we saw of Draco Malfoy in the final moments of Half Blood Prince, even he is going to be friends with Harry and group. It is going to be marriage time of Ron and Hermoine and Harry and Ginny and ofcourse Bill and Fleur. And yeah, Harry would be having a son whom he would be naming as James in remembrance of his father.

As for R.A.B it is going to be ofcourse Regulus Black as many of you would have already guessed.

Sivaji & Rajini - yet another victim of Racism

It is really pathetic that we Indians made such a big hungama about racism against Shilpa in UK and well did in the process make her very popular etc. But all we see is Racism in India itself. North vs South has been a constant fight and it was really pathetic to see such a blog post in the IBNLIVE's website - Click here

The reason behind the post is very clear. Earlier post by his coworker, Anuradha had got some 1000 odd comments and ofcourse a hell lot of visitors into the site. So the author - sexy sam (god knows who gave his nick name, that too seeing his foto cant stop laughing) also tries to provoke the people into commenting by putting up such a post. But what is pathetic is the route he has chosen. Atleast Anuradha had commented about the Sivaji movie and her view on that, where in the mistake IMO was to put that in her company's website. Had it been on her blog space, it could have been a different case.

But this guy or girl (can't make out from the picture) has come out with pure racist remarks and way of pronounciation and even proudly bringing in the "you dravidians" "we aryans" - What a load of Crap!! Didn't believe IBNLIVE has become so substandard. What next, perhaps the author would come up with more insights into the relationships amongst filmstars in the aryan film industry and dravidian film industry or try for something ala casting couch. Or they can start putting some sexy glamourous photographs in their home page. Perhaps would start getting more viewership.

The blogpost is written in such bad taste and the moment you read it, you forget that its not even a personal attack on Rajinikanth, but a direct provokation and insult to all the south indians. The guy/girl(perhaps both) deserves to be kicked in the A$$

Sivaji - FIRST REVIEW ON NET!!

Jus back after watching Sivaji in Singapore FDFS at GV Yishun.

Awesome performance by Rajini. Looking younger by decades as though travelled by a time machine, Superstar looks ravishing and has given out a spell binding performance. In his Motta role, he even makes us forget the La ka la ka la ka...... He is an epitome of style and his walks and his mannerisms have been captured in a fan like style by Shankar. Shankar is a master in bringing out social issues through his script and packaging it in a commercial way. The message in the movie and the final slides on the screen as names roll by is something every Indian would dream for.

The songs picturisation has always been Shankar's forte and he proves that again. Ballelakka has Nayantara looking soooo hot and the scenes are so pleasing to the eyes. Sahara and the glass tower looks ravishing and Shreya is SUPER DUPER HOT in Vaaji Vaaji song. Athiradee and Style song is every RAJINI fan's dream come true. Wonderful use of CG in both the songs. Shankar or ARR has been so clever in using the Sega Fightaa song -- Hats off

Rahman's songs have already stuck on to the top of the charts and would sure stay on for some more time with the visuals out now. He has done a wonderful work with the BGM and esp Blaaze proves why he is Rahman's favorite. The BGM music which resembles one of the songs is too good to hear.
Sujatha's dialogues is another strength to the movie. Scene where Suman makes fun of Rajini is another gem by Sujatha. Magic with little words and its Sujatha for you.

Heroines in Rajini and Shankar movies have always been mostly for glamour. Here too Shreya fits the bill perfectly and does a fantastic job at that. In addition she does have some scenes to prove her acting and she does a good job. Vivek's rockbottom career is going to be revived with this movie where he is there with Rajini in most of the scenes. Office Room comedy scenes and La Ka La Ka scenes STAND OUT!! still laughing thinking about them. .... He even has a couple of punch dialogues

Suman has been a revelation in terms of Villain. Speaking fewer words and with no over the board shouting, he has done a wonderful job and looks menacing. The confrontation scenes b/w Rajini and Suman are a highlight of the movie.

Style song and Adhiradee song graphics are top class (Both are fantasy songs and they sure have unrealistic sequences which is why you have CG in the first place) Other than that, not much of CG in the movie.

As for the minus points in the movie, there is one scene with Shreya and train which is kinda unbelievable. There are slides which are put as the names roll by and they ought to have been included before that coz some people may miss that.

In Singapore theatre we had atleast 20% of crowd as women and everyone enjoyed the movie thoroughly. Throughout the first half and almost half of second half (not sequentially) it was sprinkled with lots of humour ala Rajini Style. Sivaji -- Pera ketta chumma Adhirudhilla........

Recently was going through a discussion on Shahrukh vs Amitabh's KBC in Rediff and one comment caught my eye.... It goes like this "Shahrukh is using Insha Allah frequently on the show and he is promoting Islam!!" Totally taken back, I was shocked to see the penetration of religion (or should I say the misuse of it) into our day to day lives. I have now even doubts that this whole Amitabh vs Shahrukh is being perhaps perceived as a Hindu vs Muslim by many people.

Sincerely feel that a hero fanaticism like Rajini vs Kamal, Vijay vs Ajith, Shahrukh Vs Hrithik, Shahrukh vs Amitabh, Mammooty vs Mohanlal is any day better the Hindu/Muslim clash. Instead unfortunately, yet another one of Politician's tricks to survive (Religion) seems to be flourishing day after day. Sigh......

This weekend i was on a trip to trichy. Usually I dont go to temples other than for accompanying (!!) my family ... We reached there early Saturday morning and then went to the Srirangam temple.. the rudest shock awaited me there. Seperate queues to meet God each lined up differently categorised by Money. Pay 20 Rs and you get to see God before 1000 people.. pay 50 Rs and meet before 400 people.. PATHETIC to say the LEAST.
We went and stood in the Special Dharshanam queue after being scared seeing the "a(dharma)" dharshanam queue paying 20 Rs each. Then comes one guy (yes a typical guy with a kudumi and the sacred(!) thread) and he told us "this queue would take u more than 3 hours".. we were confused and asked him "isnt this the queue for the dharshanam" he replied back "yes but this would take more time, wanna go faster?" we replied "yes and wht should do for that" and he states "anga irukkaravaa konjam adhigama edhirpaarpa .. 200 rs kudungo seekirama poyidalaam ! (The people inside would expect some extra money .. gimme 200 rs and we can go in faster... " i jus gave him a stern look and said "its okie we would stand in line" .. then after about 1 1/2 hours in the line we almost reached the entrance of the diety. There the same guy was there and he even had the guts to ask us "oh ippo dhaan varelaa (Oh now only you are coming!) " i was shocked at the way this person was cooly asking BRIBE when the same thing might be done in private EVEN in a Government office.
One person like that was not going to spoil my mood and off we went inside with the Archana chit... there came a person who took our chit and the coconut and other stuff for Archana from us.. i thought he is taking it from us to hand it over to the gurukal or whatever and when we reached the God, there the same person was waiting with full commitment to help us get what we wanted.. I cudn't help but think that something is wrong.... Meanwhile the gurukal inside the temple was pestering me and saying "podunga dhaaralamaa podunga aayiramo (1000) aynooro (500) paravayillai (put put dont hesitate 1000 or 500 rs is okie) .... i was shocked...... outside only had i seen so many beggers asking me with rights "ayyaa oru rooba picha podunga" (Pls spare one rupee for me) here inside the temple also was the same fate the difference just being a higher amount.... i gave him a far far less amount than he had even imagined and he openly comments "Sanikizhama adhuvuma vandhurukkara aalunga paarthiyaa" (See the people who have turned out on Saturdays) .... we didnt get time to reply to him after being pushed out by the crowd gathering in and ofcourse the gurukal werent making us have a nice dharshanam once they knew we werent giving more money!
We came out and saw the great person who helped us get into this mess with the archana thattu with him...he then took us to a mandapam sort of thing inside the temple and asked our stars/names etc and started telling out some mantrams....... i knew trouble was coming :-) he finished it and as it is without disappointing us started 40 brahmana kudumbam irukku anna daanam pannanum........ (there are 40 brahmin families you have to give them food) I was like "mm why should i?" he told "they are not having money to eat and now only magara jothi is over etc blah blah blah" i wanted to know his expectation and asked him how much?? he cooly told
atleast 10 rs per family !! i cudnt help laughing and we walked out from that guy with great difficulty not before losing 50 rs from my pocket! and from then on it was more of a comedy ((well comedy to think back but cudnt stop worrying how bad our nation is turning out to be and that too the people visiting us would have such a bad opinion on us) trip of all sorts ... every now and then when a poojari came towards us helping us with something we knew something was up their sleeves and mind u they didnt disappoint us in any ways! there was this poojari who helped us put the prasadham into a plastic cover and asked us money !! there was this person who just showed us the direction for "ambal sannidhi" (Goddess place) and asked us money!!

Gandhiji and his paper was the mark of the day........ everyone in and around the temple was jus having one thing in their mind!! MONEY!!! I do accept and understand the importance of money, but fact that the people inside the temple itself seemed to worship it more than God shook me.......
Finally we were out of the temple and we were going towards Samayapuram, yet another temple......... the same policies followed here too!! By then all the happenings weren't surprising to me!! Then finally to finish of the day we were in Thiruvanaikkavil where the Diety of Lord Shiva was inside water....... surprisingly the temple was empty and the Dharma (Free) dharshanam was a good choice..... but after going inside yet another surprise awaited....... If you go through the free dharshanam here you get to see the God through a wall and its holes... there was some group of people who were allowed to go inside through a opening....... upon querying I understood that it was another SPECIAL entrance which you get with 5 Rs... It was a painful sight that so many old ladies and people who had probably come from far to get a glimpse of the God not being able to pay this 5 Rs (in most other places this was far more higher) and get to see God nearer .......
well I knew Money can almost get us everything........but didnt know that God too came with a PRICE TAG!!!

on a side note, Wow What a Movie!! and did anyone by mistake also say that he was inspired by this movie to take Ghajini????? except for the tattoos all around Surya and the 15 minutes memory cut off I dont find ANYTHING similar....... if you can get hold of the movie do watch it atleast once.... well u wont mostly understand it the first time, so watch it again :-)
Ofcourse no Kalpana in this to bring repeat audience though :-)) thts the only complaint i have :-(

whew! a loooong break from blogging and commenting....... busy with work is one nice reason to give :-) but more than that it was cos of lack of access to system... now i have some arrangements and its blogging time :-)

Rain sweeping shores and lives in Chennai and Mumbai and babes like Katrina to Wilma paying US a visit and earthquake in Pakistan and Kashmir -- what is the world coming to? am not a particular believer of D-Day and other stuff.. but its really heartbreaking to see such stuff going around us! it always gives me a vague thought..... what are we doing right now.. this moment! we long for weekends to come and we so anxiously wait for that moment we would meet our long missed friends and eagerly await the day we find out first love and what not.... but what happened to all these kinda people who were in Florida, Pakistan, Mumbai and parts of Tamilnadu..... all left for them is memories or if not all left are their memories.......

anyways bygone is bygone....... atleast one thing i got reassured of this was enjoy each and every moment of your life.. and have as much as fun as you can....

well.. this article gave me something to thnk about....
Gossips - Does it give the mind happiness and peace of having scolded the bosses and the co-workers with ur fellow gossipers..... or does it leave you with a guilt in ur mind ... or does it give a wrong impression about the person you gossipped to the people who were talking with you.... tricky.. but all three are true! i used to think %&%&#& of people who talked bad abt someone when they werent there... the immediate thought tht went into my head was "well if i aint there wud they talk of me the same way" ... tht was when i initially joined job... now i look at gossiping like a whining club (nope this has no reference to the marina laughter club) ... its more of bartender** job taken in swaps... and interestingly in most cases ppl who tend to be in that group would be of same or similar levels in the organization (am limited myself to office gossips .. don't even wanna go into the other ones!! )...
to think about it, it gives u immense satisfaction after having talked about something which was irritating you for some time with someone who is also completely aware of the situation (discussing the same with kith and kin jus gets u empathy coz they cant REALLY put themselves into your shoes -- though they do it with more love and sincerity than in the above case ;-) ).. but at the same time talking ill of someone is not something i prefer.... well i can hear you guys say, now cut the crap, tell your point and don't waste our time.. the point is that I feel gossips do make me happy (the thought gives me creeps) but at the same time if those gossips go beyond the whinings and get into jealousy and unethical competition then am not into it! my gossips have always been limited to office things which i have not been able to say openly out in public..... and at times its a boon coz the things discussed reach the people to whom it was intended originally without even you actually telling them ...

Sony or Canon..
i have been literally breaking my head over choosing a good digi camera for some days now... as for now my decision is fixed on the Sony one, coz of its zoom and the LCD size... but price is wht is making me hesitant :-( ... My friend recommends Konica Minolta with similar optical zoom and for a better price range too!.....
huh, If only there was a free trial for Digicams like free test drives ;-))

When most people (men shud i say) are still eyes-locked on Sania in US Open (and the pic here), it was a pleasant surprise when Kaif gave India a good win by scoring a century... this guy is goood! I like the way he scores runs most times even when he comes so low down the order.. .. and now up the order and wow what a good innings!!
btw, u all didnt want the kaif pic here rite.. so i went for the obvious
As of Sania is almost into face Sharapova with a 7-6/4-3 Lead against Bartoli!! That's coool....... (Update: Sania wins 7-6/6-4 wow!!)

Its a terrific feeling to see India triumphing everywhere.... sigh "if only this everywhere meant more"

can't believe i posted this a few days back!Ah Aah rocks... having listened to Oru Naal Oru Kanavu, Oru Kallooriyin Kadhai, Thotti Jeya, Kanda Naal Mudhal and also the much talked about Ghajini... understood why A R Rahman is in a league of his own.....
Somehow all songs of Ghajini has that "have heard that already" feel... the X-Machi song is so familiar to me but not able to figure out where I have heard it ... the Oru Maalai song from Karthik is so similar to the song in Minnalae... Ah Aah songs are far too better than all these in the way that all the songs atleast have a different kind of a feel... Not Rahman's best.... but is one of the season's best...... hope S J Suryah doesn't get into tooo much of issues and atleast gets this movie out soon b4 the songs run out of batteries....... these 6 songs are the ones which are looping in my player....

The very fact that Australia were battling out for the last 24 balls to get the test to a draw gives ample evidence of how established this new England outfit has become. The weather and Shane Warne played the spoilsport I guess, but it was a wonderful test match nevertheless with Australia almost chasing the highest fourth innings score ever scored by any team and were even looking like getting em with Ponting going great guns.......
But once he got out and it was 24 balls to be played out by Brett Lee and the great McGrath it was a great climax in the making for the third test match.... Brett Lee played out the first 6 balls of Flintoff and gave Steve Harmison a chance to hit at McGrath and the latter did manage to survive 6 balls.... that sure was one thrilling over and when Brett Lee played out the next 5 balls from Flintoff calmly the requirement for England was 1 wicket to take 7 balls to go... Brett Lee played the last ball from Flintoff hoping for a single and as irony would have it the ball went to the fence for a four....... Last six balls and McGrath to play it out to save Aussies the embarassment.... he did that smartly enough by giving the strike to Lee for the last three balls...... the speedster wasn't going to give up at that point of time and he led Australia to Victo..err.. Draw!! The series stays at 1-1 and lets see who has the last laugh......

listening to A Aa now gives me a Oh Oh!! i loved Mangal Pandey more than this!!! Being a craaaaaaazy Rahman fan I couldn't find any of his touches in any of the songs sadly....... true Rahman songs takes times to register but atleast one song has touched a chord for me in all of his movies till date.....this one didnt :-( I dont like Ajith but still eagerly now awaiting Godfather......... NEW film songs were too goood........
I found Varugiraaye and Marankothiye listenable ... sincerely hoping that the songs gets onto me ......

its really pathetic to see attacks on temples and mosques by terrorists for the sole reason of starting a chaos in the country....... and to top it all the state government blames the central government... the opposition blames the ruling gov... its high time all this is stopped and some serious action is taken against such stuff...... politicians dont waste any opportunities such as this to make a nice publicity for themselves.... but at the end the people are left to distress.......

well its been a looong gap and it needed something like this to push me to writing...... am talking about ANNIYAN!!
standing in the queue in the early hours of Tuesday, 14th jun... we all got the tickets for Anniyan at Satyam for the first day ... thrilled we were would be an understatement coz all of us at home were listening to anniyan songs daily from the day we got our tickets to keep the tempo rising and rising (though the fact remains that it wud have beeen more thrilling for me if it was A.R.R) ... come friday and we were there promptly on time bunking our work ;-)
Review on the movie is already available in plenty of sites i dont wanna bore u guys with the same stuff again.. but whew i cant stop talking on Shankar and Vikram's brilliance..... right after the movie, someone asked me what would be shankar's movie's theme... coz he has almost dealt with all the things which irritate us on a daily basis.... each of us keep seeing such things done by public on a daily basis and none of us bother to go in and do something about it.... well i am also one amongst of the guilty :-((.... hope an anniyan is born amongst us Indians.... unlike some idiotic fools like this who wouldn't obviously understand anything more abt our nation..........
the biggest letdown i felt in the movie was its music and the BGM.... probably b'coz am a die hard fan of A.R.R i didnt find it to my liking..... felt that Rahman would have taken the movie to the HIGHEST level... one thing i was happy was that when split personality was handled in the poorest of fashions relating it to ghosts etc in Chandramukhi, "Anniyan" and Shankar has handled MPD in a wonderful way.... hats off.......

am back after hols... thought of posting something cool but well well well the happenings in our country seldom allow space for that ................
its ridiculous to see such happenings in our country which is hailed as a country supporting multiple religions.... if this is the way we are gonna support multi religions we can as well dont support it at all .... well am talking abt the blasts in the theatres if you guys havent figured it yet ...... and out here in our place its all issues with English names for movies / no violence in movies etc....... violence and politics seems to be synonyms but these politicians doesn't miss one opportunity to condemn anyone else using their copyrighted stuff i guess .... now as a common man u tend to question ! why such a fuss over all this stuff! what if the religious slogan was used in the title of a movie? what if violence is shown in movie.... u as a citizen of an INDEPENDENT nation decide what and what not to watch ? isn't it? who gives the religious parties and the politicians the rights to decide what is right for the general public? these sort of things makes us all think "Are we in a peace loving country?" and what is our government doing against all this? Nothing i suppose......... because if they raise their voice against this then the opposition makes use of this to topple the government...... well democracy at its best whew!!!! Music synonyms to Ilayaraja.... that seems to be a thing of the past .. atleast thts wht most of his current music album releases has to say ... "Magical duo back with magic" says Indiaglitz.com and in a hurry i checked out the songs only to be confused as to whether the site was referring to this movie indeed... Album has a songs reminding you of Friends and AgniNatchathiram and then there is this song which Ilayaraja himself has rendered... .. Balumahendra seems to have got it wrong this time.. atleast thts wht i feel and hope that when the movie releases i am made to eat my own words back! Where is the magic this legend is known to give to the audience..... Yuvan's Arindhum Ariyaamalum seems to be far better than this one!

India to Progress?

jus pondering over what Dilip and Yazad and Amit have been saying in their blogs on poverty and india going down in the statistics i cudnt resist starting this blog....
i had a few solutions to the issues which i feel are more important to the growth of our nation.... comments are welcome... .
1. Beggary.. this is the worse thing i have ever seen in india which cud easily bring down the level of respect foreigners have on us... go to any temple / or in train travel or for that matter most public places and you wouldn't have to worry about being alone coz you would have atleast a dozen beggers to visit you every one minute..... give them something to eat and you get a disgusted look... money is what they want. not for their sake ... but to give the people who is the head for their group...... begging is a business for most of them. Governments change, but nothing seems to be changing their state. You feel pity for those young children who are made to beg in an age where they should be playing (forget studying in a school) ...
Now, can begging be made a crime... do that and the ruling party would go for a toss.... ofcourse you cant stop these people from doing so before giving them an alternative (ofcourse depends if they are ready to take up that alternative) ... well a solution which i could think of is to build huts/houses for all of them in a government place and start utilising them for various works pending within the nation... give them some work to do... it can be cleaning the roads/cultivating crops and a huge number of jobs which is still suffering from lack of manpower... dont think most of them would complain with food / shelter and something to do through the day.. ofcourse not many would be happy to forego begging which is easy life without sweat shed... the government needs to take a decision on this and people get a way to live. There is no point in encouraging people to not work and live their life happily at the cost of the nation's embarassment.
2. Cleaning the Country even before thinking about making India a better place i think the initiatives gotto start from the state level and the people in the group above can be used to clean each roads in the state and also a rule that garbage should not be thrown on the roads should be established. I failed to understand why is that not being incorporated in here... the only trouble i can think of is how to execute such a rule.... well as we see we have enough manpower to take care of this and we can even establish groups to ensure that people who dont follow the "no garbage" rule should be punished. After all its only in our country, people act with a fear to government laws and not on self conscience... otherwise we would not have stories of NRIs spitting on the roads the moment they land in India.
3. Traffic Awareness yet another place where government with some strict laws can bring a lot of change in the way people think and also how people react to laws. Most traffic signals are jumped depending on whether the traffic police is standing on the other side of the road or not. Our public show the fact that they need someone to be strict to them for them to follow the rules. Government can have cameras set up at signals to take pictures of people jumping the signals.. (one camera per 20-25 duplicate cameras) could solve the issue of budgets for the same also ........
4. Corruption No words .... i am stuck dumb at thinking a solution for this .. coz right from the top administration it exists and there is no point in trying and correcting the bottom group with such a setup. Only a solution similar to Indian (Hindustani) movie of Shankar would be a possibility i suppose. Worrying factor is that even our people are ready to shed their money to get their work done in a normal (not faster) pace....
5. Auto trouble too small to be in this list but this is one pain for most middle class people. I have even considered buying a car coz of the trouble i have with these guys and their meters .... Why cant government raise their per meter rates and then ensure that the meters work fine .... they should get a device which should be able to tell if the meters have been tampered to ... and public should be able to register a complaint if any auto is suspicious of tampering in their meters.
I jus wrote the list of stuff which came to my mind..... I know there are more than thousands of people out there who can increase this list and can have other and even better ideas/solutions to above issues.... you are welcome to post them....

Car drives me Crazy......

Learning Car driving seems to be yet another way (the other being politics) to get spanked from someone after paying him ur money. I took up this great decision to get that a few days back and joined the school promptly. And worse as it may sound, i decided to take up the midnight slot of 5:30 AM (hey its right AM) ... half asleep half less awake i reach my driving school only to be greeted by a 1800 model car with a lifeless (only till u start driving) driving instructor. I evaded his first words of wisdom (??) by opting not to be the first to drive...... right indicator... put first gear.... yeah slowly... second gear... now third.... nope no no no not that way... slow.... hey come on didnt i tell you slow... brake .. brake .... not accelerator....... whew.... yeah thts like it.... fourth ... honk.... brake... slow down... clutch.. .hold it when u change gears....... how many times do i tell you.... i started getting used to the atmosphere....
now was my turn... the instructor told me all the basics of car driving in a whole loooooooooooooooong 2 mts....... then to my excitement (???) he asked me to start the car ...... my confusion of those extra set of brake/clutch on his end too made perfect sense now! little did i realise moments later i wud be driving on right angles to other cars.... "right indicator... put first gear.... yeah slowly... second gear... now third.... nope no no no not that way... slow.... hey come on didnt i tell you slow... brake .. brake .... not accelerator....... whew.... yeah thts like it.... fourth ... honk.... brake... slow down... clutch.. " it all kept coming back to me..... though in a more irate tone ... boy was i relieved when he asked me to switch off the car and go back to join the rest of the gang who by now were more than relieved to have me in their company than at the wheel...... 5 classes gone and i have now more experience now in car driving as sania mirza has in decent dressing!! well that might sparkle yet another debate.......
